Assistant Manager - Finance & Accounting - Reporting

Job Description

Process Brief: -
Control and analyzing economic and accounting information reported by the various Business units (consolidated financial statements actual and forecast, volume and profitability KPIs, strategic plans, solvency 2..).
Control compliance of the reported information with the Group instructions, timeline and PBRC methodologies.
Identify and analyze risks and uncertainties that may impact Group financial statements, management business monitoring.
Assist the subsidiaries in their financial information process and in improving the quality, timeliness and efficiency of their reporting
Contribute to the Group performance review for both internal and external disclosure.
Actively contribute by engaging in transversal projects to improve quality of processes and the overall financial reporting at group level.

Key Accountability: -
Interact with BU through transparent and smooth communication and internal teams
Good understanding and ability to analyze the financial statements
Should possess the ability to deal with various auditors
Responsible for ensuring all the controls are in place
Identify, facilitate and implement process improvement ideas to improve efficiency.

Specific knowledge required: -
Qualified Certified Accountant (ACA/ CIMA/CPA); Minimum 3-4 year post qualification experience (or experienced accountant with 6-7 years)
Worked in Audit environment as well from Insurance or financial services is a preference

Position Summary:

Good written and well developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and hence develop an effective working relationship with Finance colleagues in various entities
Good influencing skill
Ability to get work done from people not within authority
Sense of urgency and working towards deadlines
Working knowledge of Magnitude, Hyperion or any other consolidation & reporting tool;
General Ledger skills such as Oracle, SAP, combined with consolidation systems experience such as Hyperion Enterprise;
Ability to quality review output of own work.
Ability to learn fast and understand various Group operations
Strong analytical skills
Ability to evolve in a complex, challenging and changing environment
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Specific position related exp: -
Insurance industry (or financial services) experience
Good knowledge of MS Excel
Knowledge of SAP will be an advantage
Exposure to IFRS Knowledge
